5 Sunday Routines that Lead to a Successful Week

I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing weekend. It's Sunday and this weekend is coming to an end so It's time to prepare for the week ahead.

I use to be that person who procrastinated on Sunday,  For me Sunday was a day for sleeping late, lounging around catching up on movies, cooking,  eating and napping. Before I knew it, the day was over and I got absolutely nothing done to prepare for the week ahead.

It's 6:00 PM on a Sunday and here I am energized and ready to play catch up. I was living my life this way for so long that I got nothing accomplished. My week was unorganized, I had no time or energy for anything because I spent my entire week catching up on things that I should have done on Sunday.

I work a full-time job, blog and run an Etsy Shop so it's important that I am organized and plan ahead because time is not on my side in the evening when I get home. I only have 2 -3 hours to work on my side hustle before getting ready for bed. I am one of those people that needs at 6 -7 hours of sleep each night so I can function at peak performance at work.

To stop the madness I decided I needed to be productive on Sunday as I am,  on all the other days of the week and more so especially on Sunday because it's the beginning of a new week.

I decided make a page in my bullet journal just for Sunday with the things I need to get accomplished that will prepare me for the week ahead. This plan works for me, it keeps me organized, helps me to be more productive and  utilize my time to get the most out of each day.

5 Sunday Routines that Lead to a Successful Week

  • Get up early:
    • No more sleeping half the day away then getting up and lounging around the remainder of the day -  I start my day with reading and prayer. I prepare my mind and soul to stay focus and on track
  •  Bullet Journal for the week ahead:
    • I keep a journal so I can keep track of things I need to do each week/month
    • I review it on Sunday to see what's coming up each week so I can be prepared and move things around if I need to.
    • I also jot down ideas/thoughts and check off things I accomplished the week before

  •  Prepare my meal plan:
    • My daughter is away at college so there's not much cooking going on. I prepare one meal on Sunday that usually last for a few day and I take it for lunch during the week
    • Breakfast and dinner is not a problem for me as I am not a breakfast eater some fruit or a smoothie is good enough for me. For dinner I will do something light,  a salad or another smoothie
  • Self Care Sunday:
    • Since I have a short hair cut, I am able to maintain my own hair. I wash, color and give myself a trim
    • I give myself a facial and a mask treatment
    • I also do my weekly pedicure and manicure.  I try to be sandal ready especially since it's he summer time
  • Outfit/Handbag for the week
    • I put together a few outfit ideas for the week. This is subject to change each morning, depending on the weather and my mood. When you have an idea of what you are going to wear each day it makes it easier to get ready and get out the door on time.
    • I also prepare the bag that I am going carry for that day or week. I put all my essentials in their such as, my wallet, work id, cell phone charger, lunch, snacks, journal, etc you get the idea. There is nothing like trying to swap out a bag in the morning when you are trying to get out of the house on time. You are bound to forget and leave something behind.

What do you do to prepare for the week ahead? I welcome any ideas or tips that you want to share with my reader.  Let have a conversation.
